"Ballad of the Battle for Meridell" was one of the winners this week. Yay!



And I think they had a different artist in. Darigan looks different... well, actually, he's lost the kooky golden jaw and looks rather like the Bat-Thing again, and perhaps a little unfinished. He knocked Kass's charm off and smashed it with his staff, which was (albeit not necessarily exactly like that) one of my admittedly obvious predictions. ;)

And then he offered a hand to him and said they couldn't control him anymore, but Kass ran away -- and eventually ran straight into a wall, looked up to see The Three, and... um... was either obliterated or snatched away. I'm not totally sure which, but as it left a jagged scorch mark and smoke on the stone, obliterated seems likely.

I don't think this is encouraging regarding my "Jeran survived" theory. On the other hand, they DID just add a new article on the Ghost Lupe, which serves as a reminder that between him and Coltzan, one wonders if dead Lupes are really likely to be fully gone.

Lord Darigan has propped up a rather woozy Danner and said, "Come on, son. You have to help me. We have to get out of here, fast." I find this somewhat alarming given that, as I think I mentioned before, as far as I can tell most of the population of Darigan is on the citadel. A full -- and fast -- evacuation could be rather difficult. And they're not exactly indoors, so despite it looking as if Kass ran inside somewhere, I don't think Darigan can be referring to getting out of a particular building. Area, maybe.

And Morguss was (I think) still dropping Novas or whatever was exploding into red smoke, back when Darigan arrived. Wonder what she's up to. Maybe that's why Darigan's worried....

Thank you! I really suspect the length helped; I'm fond of some of my others, but they mostly ended up over before I broke into their recommended length estimate. I wasn't at all expecting to get anything in on the Lupe Day special, but I guess it went with (finally!) updating the plot. And Jeran was in it. Briefly. (And he needs to turn up again for real. Hmph. Not to mention Morris and Boris, who don't even have the excuse of having fallen off the edge for their disappearance. *pokes Darigan* Come on, you found Danner! ...Okay, he wasn't hard to spot.)
