I shall be trying this again, more attentively this year. My bees are supposed to ship Monday. (Now, let's see if I can manage a slightly smoother installation. As in, without spilling a large fraction of the poor things onto the ground. They found their way home just fine, but still.)

I finally got my HIPAA forms faxed. This, incidentally, is a bizarre result of the fact that the Biochemistry Department is for some administrative purposes part of the medical campus. I play with models of RNA. I recently had to go through a brief informative presentation on when and how it is appropriate to look at or disclose medical information.

I replied to the question regarding whether I'd change my behavior in the workplace as a result of this, "No. The most medical information I deal with in the workplace is 'So-and-so wasn't feeling well today and went home'!"

On the bright side, I'm caught up on grading and reasonably so on my Spanish homework....

Things I need to do:
Figure out what exactly I'm supposed to be doing about looking at headlines in a Spanish newspaper online.
Finish 19 more problems and a TGA before the test (4/4).
Schedule and execute pre-prelim.
Email old lab to find out what's going on (and remind them my old email doesn't WORK anymore, just in case they've been trying to get to me there... sigh...).
Taxes. (Yes, the procrastination thing.)
Transfer accounts.
Finish registering.
Finish name change.
Clean off desk. Agh.
Call Dell about computer's peculiar behavior

Things I would like to do. Soon.
Make cookies.
Write. I've been neglecting X-fic, and there are bits of the Time's Riddle series I'd really like to have done before the fifth book comes out.

Stories/Series in progress:
Ashes of Chaos (Break of Dawn)
Oasis stuff (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and weird miscellaneous scraps)
Double Helix (Twin Spiral and any other possible sequels are still floating)
Tapestry of Fire sequels (OK, so this is only sort of in progress)
Aliya and Domino with Misleadingly Gloomy Titles (Thankfully, this is not really the series title. But there's still another story or two floating, one of which is partly written.)
Time's Riddle
Stepbrothers

Stray Ideas or Bunnies:
Hrimhari
Dark Riddles
Wand-chewing
Other Founderfic
Salazar/Sprout, which is growing an actual plot as well, just to confuse people

...I'm fairly sure there's more than that floating around somewhere in my brain. Hrm. Oh well.

Mrph. Stepbrothers. Yes...Second year's almost done, if we ever actually worked on it. And Twin Spiral...*hides*

Twin Spiral suffers from the conviction that we need an actual structured plot. And laziness, on my part.

Bah, who needs a plot? *g* And all Stepbrothers Y2 needs is a few little scenes to wrap it up, if I'd stop being lazy and write them. *sigh* Why does life continually get in the way of fanfic? It's not fair!

Unless I am very much mistaken, you are the Persephone Kore of the Trevor fics! *is impressed* I'm not so paranoid anymore; mostly just lazy. :D

Am very intrigued by Salazar/Sprout. Is this our Professor Sprout or an ancestor?

*laughs and blushes* Yes, I'm the one with Trevor the Toad Heir of Slytherin. Neville would be terribly alarmed.

Salazar/Sprout is indeed our Professor Cynthia Sprout (yes, we made up the first name and I'm sure it's wrong), who was working with Neville to adapt a newly arrived Patronus Plant to the Scottish climate (It's tropical. Eats Lethifolds normally) when his Finite Incantatem splashed over a statue beneath a birdbath that turned out to be a long-petrified Salazar. Everyone was very surprised.

This was the result of discussing the Alliterative Pairings Challenge with Starzie. Of course, for the challenge it's waaaaay overdue by now, and as I mentioned it seems to be growing an actual plot....

They are. If in this case a bit weird. :)
