How did you first hear of/meet me?

Where and when did you first hear of my name/see my work/'meet' me? With what people/series/groups etc. do you associate me and my writing? This is not a praise or feedback meme, this is just to track the path of my online presence and to see the connections involved, to find out how people link together.

I saw your name on SQ a few times in the "Recent Fics" section, and then I met you more properly in one of [livejournal.com profile] narcissam's chats, and now you're on my friends list, and one of these days I really must get around to actually reading one of your fics (*blushes*).

I mentioned NM's chats in my response to yours... I was very shy of you when I first found out who you were. It didn't help that, having identified you more firmly by fic than by authorname, I then proceded to call you Maud. Oops. (Incidentally, I still very occasionally start to think of [livejournal.com profile] dreagoddess as Peggy due to having initially found the OC more memorable than the authorname. Yes, I am terrible about that, why do you ask? And I've been cowriting with her for years now.)

You know what's funny? When I first saw "Persephone Kore and Alan Sauer" listed in the author names for SQ, it immediately conjured up in my mind an image of a very scholarly pair of authors, probably older than myself, the kind of people who research their work intensively and write long, scrupulously well-plotted stories -- and I immediately felt shy and rather intimidated myself! :)

And not only had I forgotten about the "Maud" slip until you reminded me, I didn't mind it a bit. After all, I tend to think of people in terms of their LJ and AIM usernames... thinking of them by the main characters of their fics isn't so very different!

...I really hope you won't be disappointed. :) Alan is good about researching; I'm somewhat less so, and the Time's Riddle series is only a series because we started throwing dialogue back and forth after I wrote the first story. We started trying to plot in more detail once things got more complicated, but actually, some of the parts of that series that have been the most fun to write came out of getting around the fact that the first story didn't actually take into account most of PoA or GoF.

1) Well, there was this math camp that we went to way back when....
Online, I just barely met you, when you were looking for me and stumbled across my LJ *grin* I'd never heard of your fandom alias before then, since I'm not incredibly actively involved in the fandom.

2) After you'd friended my LJ and told me you were an SQer, I promptly toddled off to the Sugar Quill and read all the pieces there. Good stuff, that.

3) Time's Riddle. I haven't read any of your other works yet.

Glad you like them so far. :) I'm no longer sure whether your comic or Dyce's Snapefic was my first ever encounter with HP fanfic, but it was one of those, I'm pretty sure.

My comic? **blink, blink** I don't remember writing a comic...unless you mean the one I made of the Remembrall scene in PS/SS....

Well, you showed me one of a crossover, where Ron was going to play in a chess tournament in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles world, and they ran into a slight definition problem involving the word "wizard" but got it cleared up....

A-ha. That one. I didn't remember that I had shown it to anyone....
I'm still working on it. I finished the drawing four years ago, but since then it's gotten stuck perpetually on the bottom of my "to be coloured" stack. Looking at it now, I think it's rather silly and very poorly written--but all the same, I'm going to post it on my Fanfic page when it's finished.

Which reminds me, I need to add Time's Riddle to my fic recs list.

**scurries off to do just that**

Well, I agree that it was silly, but I thought that was on purpose. ;) It was fun, anyhow.

Which reminds me, I need to add Time's Riddle to my fic recs list.

Eeee! Thank you. :)

Hmm. Not sure--I think I first saw your name around the Sugar Quill and later saw you commenting on my friends' LJs. And while I still haven't gotten around to reaading "Time's Riddle", it's the fic that I connect with your name.

LJ comments are a good one, I guess. *g* Hope you like it if you do get to it.

You were some weird freak who randomly /msg'd me one day on IRC and said, "I really like the Peggyverse. You should write Stryfe!" *giggles* I associate you now with Stryfe, Tom Riddle, more Founders than should really exist, and the best co-writer EVER. :)

No, you were dead wrong, which is why I never again wrote another scene with Peggy and Stryfe. *snort*

This is embarassing that I can't remember more details... but anyhow. :) You sent me lovely feedback I probably still have somewhere, plus the lyrics of a song you thought was relevant to some series or story of mine... Stonehaven something-or-other?

As for association.... well, Stryfe, obviously, and Nur. :) I have to say that the first stories of yours that come to mind when I think of you are your Shadowlands ones, but I'm probably heavily biased...

"Stonehaven Sunset" by John Denver. You were also one of the first people I got up the nerve to send feedback at all. The positive response was very helpful, even if I am still lazy about it. :) And... hmm... I'm not sure which it was specifically either -- probably TB, but I can't be sure. The whole love/soldier/martyr/love combination works for your Nate pretty generally, though. :)

I should get back to some of my Shadowlands stories!

Hmm... near as I recall, I first ran into you very quickly over at FA. (Before I moved to the Quill). I don't recall much else though. I think it was a review or something.

Hmm. I don't really remember encountering you much on FA. The Quill, yes. You make good posts. *g*

Very likely. I joined FA about 8 months before OoTP came out, but never really posted much, (was gone for months for that matter). Right after OoTP came out, i went into a posting frenzy for about 4 days, then found the Quill and migrated. About all I do with FA any more is cross post Bones to Bones.

You were an FAP regular in my mind from the beginning. One of those very smart, very elegant people who have good taste etc. which is why I nearly died when you mentioned in a rec thread that you were "jumping on the 1975 bandwagon." Wow! Cool people read my fic!

Then I got AIM and you showed me the ways of AIM that first day, when I was waiting for OotP to come out and sick to my stomach.

I associate you with being a voice of saneness and reasonability, as well as with Young Wizards (I really should buy that book again, though I'm still sore at it being stolen).

*is blushing* It's very kind of you not to associate me with the occasions I end up snarling at people. ;) Once I got over the kneejerk wariness at the name by actually reading several of your posts, I ended up expecting you to be a voice of reason too. Usually a more reasonable one than I felt like being, at that.

And I still haven't gone back and reviewed 1975, have I. I still remember being rocked back at the end of the first chapter, and then finding the explanation very clever.

I'm still kind of freaked out by the book being stolen.... Incidentally, Diane Duane's doing a chat Saturday. (Wherein I shall probably go mad trying not to ask for spoilers which I wouldn't get anyway. She was on a writing getaway working on the next book recently, you see.)

Uhm, okay, let's see, two different fandoms to sort out. *drags memory into line*

Okay, I first-ever-heard-of-you when I read the beginning of the Time's Riddle stuff at the Quill. At osme point during those uploads, you mentioned who you wrote as at FA. or I think you did. I toddled off over ther and read all the rest of the series (such as it was then.) I checked it semi-regularly for updates, because I like your Tom and also, Parseltongue is very under-used.
Or anyway, it's under-used well.
Aaand then you started posting as PK at the YW forums, and I read your post and IIRC had several discussions with you. I think that counts as meeting you. And THEN you posted a YW fanfic at FFN.net and I put "persophone_kore" and "PK" together and jumped to a conclusion, which turned out to be accurate (it helped that I noticed Alan Sauer join the forums at the same time as you did, or around then... I wondered vaguely about it at the time, I seem to recall.)

Therefore I associate you with the HP fandom and the YW fandom and forum. Pretty simpel I feel.

Isn't the WWW great?

Yes. *g* I associate you mostly with YW (and posts with actual substance), as I don't think I realized you were reading our HP stuff until after that. (I suppose it might have been helpful if I'd actually used my full username for the YW forums, huh? Oh well.)

How did you first hear of/meet me?
I saw/found a story by you at FAP, and later saw some really good posts you'd made on a thread.

Where and when did you first hear of my name/see my work/'meet' me?
Isn't this really the same question? But I guess we "met" when I started reviewing your work.

With what people/series/groups etc. do you associate me and my writing? Tom Riddle...that sounds so bad...lol.
