Sep. 3rd, 2003 01:03 pm-It is stupid to complain about how the other side of a debate thread is telling you that you're reading the books wrong or telling you how you should read them. If positions are being defended rather than explored, of course either side thinks the other is reading the books wrong. Pointing it out is superfluous. Being offended by it is, again, stupid.
-It is even more stupid if the other side of a debate does the above, and you proceed to deny it. PLEASE STOP. Of course you're saying they're reading the books wrong. That's the point.
-If your side of the debate insists on making claims that assorted characters and viewpoints are morally reprehensible and thereby making similar accusations about the other side for viewing the situation differently, then having delivered such insults, please refrain from whining quite so constantly about whether those who challenge your views are nice enough to you.
-If one side of a debate seems to contain a remarkably higher number of posts that suffer from the poster's difficulties with the language in which the books are written, does this tell us anything?

I'm sick
Date: 2003-09-05 09:58 pm (UTC)The way PA posts that "when you think of being snarky read this" and links to a post that accuses the R/Hr shippers of "creatively interpreting" what H/Hr shippers say...LOL! The shipper who whines snarkily about snark...the sockpuppet G: I love the drama...the best part is, most of it's meant entirely seriously. The most bizarre interpretations are held up as priceless insight...the whole thing is like a circus, not a traffic accident (;
I love the back-patting and mutual support societies (: Nothing makes me laugh like the DT when it really gets going.
