Good things:
The computer has not misbehaved yet today.
I have had lunch. Yum.
Not quite as good things:
1. I want to go somewhere, curl up, nap, write, watch Shrek 2, whatever. Bunch of things I want to write, in fact. This is a problem because:
2. I should be working! This is a Time of Busyness in lab, as we have a bunch of grants due shortly, the PIs are heading out for a trip this afternoon, and I (along with one of them) are going on another trip week after next.
3. Unfortunately, what with them not being in lab today, all I have to go on with regard to the grant stuff seems to be some semi-cryptic notes. I could go fiddle with graphics, or start trying to write stuff... but I'm not even sure how much is already done or which bits would be productive. (At some point I will probably be handed stuff to go through and suggest edits on, but for all I know this won't be until next week. Unless they email it. I got one of the missing reprints straightened out yesterday (it wasn't really missing), but the one with no decent printable format is probably beyond me, although it's possible I could get handed the text and figures and told to arrange them.... There are things I could do on my actual research, though some of them may need to be put off pending software developments. (Not sure about that. Hmm.)
Oh, hey, I'd forgotten about this note. And I need to email the pseudo-minion. And a professor in another department about giving a talk. Ulp. ('Ulp' because I'm not emailing about HER giving a talk, I'm emailing about her wanting ME giving a talk!) And one or both of us will be giving a talk in a meeting segment. Must see what PI wants to do about that.
Nothing like complaining in public to sort one's thoughts, huh.
