This can't be good.
May. 18th, 2004 11:18 amMy (recently acquired) laptop has adopted a tendency, with no pattern I can identify, to fail to boot sometimes. I thought at first I had solved this by recalibrating the battery, but that seems after all not to be the case.
I shall let it sit for a little while and have lunch, and when it comes up today (as it had darned well better), I shall finish fiddling with and send off the file I need to send.
And then this evening when I manage to get it to boot at home, I shall back everything up on the external hard drive I got for that purpose, check the troubleshooting guides in the manual, and probably try contacting Apple.
Siiiiiiiiigh. I bet there's no way they could get me a replacement in time to get it set up before my next trip.
ETA: It came up, and the file is away. Whew #1. I also found a page suggesting a possible solution for this sort of thing on the Apple support site, and the lab's Mac expert has offered assistance, so numbering may go up. Who knows.
