I win my NaNo. *grins* Unfortunately, this STILL doesn't mean I've finished chapter 14. But I'm still planning to finish the story -- preferably before too long; I want to get it archived, and while I am not really very fussy about this sort of thing in general, I think this one I really need to finish first.
Now why do I have stage fright?

Hurray!

I suspect that I will not, in the end, have done justice to the mystery-novel aspect of JKR's writing, but there's a reason for the title... it's partly a reminder that JKR will write something better than this when she gets to it. ;)
I wonder if I could manage to finish off Voldie in chapter 49?

Date: 2005-12-01 04:23 pm (UTC)And oh, yes! The encouragement is addictive, and people have made some very helpful comments both in terms of getting me to clarify what I'm talking about (such as not having the Weasleys' grass strewn with zucchini, even if it was really funny, and the fact that I do know a Nundu is not a shiny snake) and inspiring a new subplot that answers a very important question.
The only reason I stopped posting progress from the past few days is that I sort of bogged down in chapter 14 and realized I was only going to "win" if I plunged ahead into whatever interesting imagery struck my fancy.

Date: 2005-12-04 07:43 am (UTC)http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=479 -- "The Cat, Bagged" and "Fragments of the Foundation" are Founderfics cowritten with
http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=842 -- cowrites with
http://www.thedarkarts.org/authorLinks/Persephone_Kore/ -- the two Aintzane stories and "Dragon's Den."
If I may, allow me also to recommend stories I did not write:
http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=490 -- The Thinking Cap and sequels (most recent updates at SQ are at the top) are brilliant.
http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=299 -- "Balance" is not exactly a Founderfic (then again, neither is SBTT going to be mostly), but I love that set. Three-legged cow indeed!
http://www.sugarquill.net/index.php?action=profile&id=540 -- "Forget Me Not" hurts so much, but in a perfect way. "Those Left Behind" is a resolving sort of sequel to it.
http://www.thedarkarts.org/authorLinks/Starzie/ -- "The Bloody Baron" contains a version that is obviously not how I generally see the Founders, but it's brilliant work.
Of course, there are more, but those were the first to come to mind.
