No chapter today. About 3K words, which leaves me with the worrying prospect of having to come up with 5K apiece for the next three days if I want to "win," which is tricky since I actually have to go to lab and 5K was pretty good for a day off. But I got bogged down in a transition and jumped ahead to a bunch more scene fragments, which were interesting (if somewhat in need of fleshing out) but are rather decidedly not the second half of chapter 13.

So "NaNoWriMo" is a challenge of sorts? Okay. It's just I've never heard of it.

I didn't mean it was a bad scene - I loved it! It just seems a bit removeable; as though you could lift it out without affecting the rest of the story. I expect Greyback will have quite some importance in the actual book seven, considering he was introduced as a very conspicuous Bad Guy; stunning and arresting him probably isn't the end. My point was that it might make it fit into your story better if you have some reprecussion of the incident turn up later - even if it's nothing more than someone getting in trouble for not sounding an alarm, or Harry worrying over it. There's definately nothing wrong with having the scene! I just feel that, if you're going to include Greyback, you shouldn't just mention him once, then forget about it.

I really need to work on making myself clear the FIRST time I try to say something... Sorry if I'm being pushy, by the way. I'm used to beta-reading stories for my friends, and I tend to fall into the same habits whenever I give feedback on a story, whether or not it's my business.

Enjoy writing!

I can see where that would make this post rather baffling.

I'm personally undecided as to how much I think Greyback in particular will matter in book 7; I think there's some unfinished business with him, but it strikes me as being less Harry's than, well, a lot of the other unfinished business. I do imagine he'll come up though.

I wasn't planning to forget about the scene, though. The note about it in my outline has been making me think of Greyback with a walkie-talkie for days

P.S. I have not really given Greyback a walkie-talkie. It suddenly occurred to me that I should clarify that.
