This has not been a notably productive weekend. On the other hand, we had fun.

Last night we went to see The Bourne Ultimatum with some friends. I had not seen either of the first two, but my husband explained them at some length and I think I had only the intended amount of trouble following the story. I am amused by reports that Matt Damon replied to inquiries about a fourth Bourne by saying they could make it, but might have to call it The Bourne Redundancy. (Actually, if they did call it that, I might have to go see it in salute to their sense of humor.) Then we hung around afterward chatting. I think the major topics were blood donation and the fact that one of the surprises in the second movie was also a surprise if you'd read the book.

I'm looking forward to seeing it when my sister comes out to visit me. I enjoyed the first two (even the second one with it's jolting sequences--people were mostly annoyed by them, but the literary critic in me was pleased by the visualization of Bourne's fragmented reality), and at some point, I'm going to buy the books.

Matt Damon is hilarious. He made some remark to ET about being "disgruntled" that George Clooney won sexiest man of the year again, whereas he hadn't won any. He thought that becoming a family man would help, but then "Brad went and got, what, four or five kids; I only have two, so I guess I have no hope." Hee!

That one's also amusing. *g*

"The Bourne Redundancy"? I haven't seen any of the Bourne movies, but I might just have to run out and rent them on the strength of that remark alone :).

I haven't seen any of the Bourne movies (although I liked Matt Damon in "Dogma") but when I finally got to see OotP this weekend, they showed the Bourne preview and I felt like shouting "Who are you? You're MATT DAMON! This isn't that hard! Just look yourself up on IMDB, it'll all come back to you."

Possibly I am too literal-minded for some movies.

*gigglefit* Well, I don't think the character knew that. Although he does Google somebody.
