Um. Okay. I did not notice this while reading because... it's not the kind of thing I pick up on, generally. However, people who were trying to work out what all the adults were doing while Harry went to the Ministry found this gap in the timeline where they didn't think it should have taken so long for the Order to show up, and the two options for resolving it were that Snape was dawdling to cause trouble or that JKR didn't intend the gap.
