Diane Duane has decided to run a fanfic. (Well, a partial fanfic. She wrote the start and apparently has some later scenes prepared.) Screenplay format. The procedure seems to be that there are sequential rounds consisting of a submission period (during which people can write and send in scenes) and a two-stage voting period when it's decided which of the submissions gets in.
Submissions for the first round of fan-written segments are closed and voting is in progress.
She also posted an entry in her own blog delightedly quoting Garrison Keillor's insulting evaluation of Republicans. Many of you may well love her for it.
