Fic!

Alan and I have finally gotten around to posting the start of our Founderfic. It was originally conceived as background to the Time's Riddle series, which we have been dawdling on for quite a while now, but we decided to go ahead and get at least part of it out there before HBP, which I am convinced will tell us much more about them.

Presenting, Fragments of the Foundation
Excerpts from the lives of the Founders, originally conceived as backstory to be brought up in the Time's Riddle universe. From apprentice-years and fast friendships that get off on entirely the wrong foot to "Music, a magic beyond any we do here." May contain a plot.

*wonders idly if she should just post it here too* Alan, what do you think?

I really enjoyed reading that and I'd like to see anything more you have ready.

I may try to post my own notes on character and backstory at some point in the next couple of weeks, as I think I have to accept that the fic itself is never going to get written.

We have a whole bunch of pieces of things and a general overall plot -- although the part involving the actual, y'know, founding of the school got rather neglected in favor of establishing that they are planning to revolutionize the teaching of magic primarily in order to build an army against Helga's ex-fiance, who has started consorting with Dementors and doing unpleasant things to his psyche that quite put Helga off the idea of conquering the world with him.

And I shall look forward to your notes. :) It sounds like it would've been a fun story. (It's too bad, the fun stories that never get written because we don't get to them...)

Yeah, sure, why not? :)

Well, you'd have to come back here for the reviews. (Or I could forward them to you like at ffn. Not that we have any there yet.)

I'm toying with the idea of reposting all my fic here, but I'm not sure I want to go to that much trouble. Also, I would feel silly. Especially if I included the ones where I wrote the original draft in LJ in the first place, like the necromancy one. Or Dark Riddles.

Mental note: go back and find old fic-posts.

I don't mind coming back--I go find old posts in friends' LJs occasionally already, when I want to see the discussion again or whatever.

Speaking of which, you remember I asked you about putting up old YWfics in [livejournal.com profile] myriadwords? "Welcome to Timeheart" has one new review there. (Well, two, but one is just Tui being pleased that I got around to doing it. She wanted to encourage people to post non-challenge fic as well.)

Nifty. :) *goes to see*
