Got it. Very cool! I love Sarah, and I particularly like the touch about her parents balking because they feel rushed. I also like that Slughorn tells them the other options and that they are given time to think. There've been all these stories that seem to assume the level of pressure placed on the Dursleys for Harry's attendance was standard for dealing with Muggle families... I realize the point of such fics is to be disquieting, but while even the good guys are more than a little dismissive of Muggles, I never quite felt such extreme measures were likely as a standard.

I think you might be picturing somewhat more involvement with the elder Tom Riddle than we were, but the image of his telling his own parents about the situation is a very vivid one. We do think the idea of his leaving Tom the house is pretty likely though, and the acclimation camp is a really neat idea and a good one. Most of the Muggle-borns we see in canon are pretty much flinging themselves into the whole thing, and even for a wizard-raised kid I get the idea Hogwarts is fairly bizarre, but it does seem like it would help to have a chance to start getting used to things before you're desperate to get to class on time.
