Dear Brain,
I realize it's fun, but you know, we'd probably both work better if you didn't decide to stay up and write (or just dawdle, the writing's better) between midnight and three. Aren't you supposed to be the smart one?
Yours,

I signed up for a writing challenge at the Neopian Times Writers Forum to try to write 35 1500-word-minimum chapters between March 11 and May 11. I haven't started yet. This isn't promising, especially as I don't have that many ideas for chaptered Neopets stories. Must brainstorm soon.
In related but better news, I finally finished a story I really wanted to get done.
---
I am much more interesting when I write stories instead of repeating myself endlessly in argument with people who may not actually be paying attention. At least, I think so.
---
I have a toy! I got a free digital camera. Not a very good one, of course, but cute.
---
I also finally got all but one roll of my pictures from December developed. Sorry, no pictures from the night I walked six miles with a ceilidh in the middle.
---
I think I should call up the nearby Easy Spirit stores and see whether they've got any black Tiebreakers in my size -- and if so whether the sale listed on the website holds. They were a bit rough to break in (and perhaps I didn't do quite enough of it before traipsing all over everywhere in them, see above, but man am I ever glad I wasn't wearing dress shoes), but they're really good.
My PI, you see, informed me that the thing to do for academic conferences was to have a pair of comfortable, black, preferably leather sneakers. Unobtrusive and decent looking, but suited to walking a lot. I suspect this works better for guys, but if I stick to slacks I'm fine -- and frankly, I'd rather wear them with skirts and perhaps look a little odd than kill my feet.
You can tell I'm in academia, can't you.

Date: 2005-03-18 04:21 am (UTC)One gets that impression. More than one of my professors chose academia over the business world so that they could come to work in jeans with holes in them and no one care.
And what's wrong with that? *g*

Date: 2005-03-18 04:50 pm (UTC)Maybe I should try writing part of a story every time I see something online I'm tempted to argue with.
...That could be a lot of writing. ;)

Date: 2005-03-19 05:01 am (UTC)What I need to do is force myself to get up early and cut back on the caffeine. I do crash at a sensible hour that way, at least in the early stages, and I really do have a circadian perk at about 7AM.
